Welcome to my website
Education opens the door to new opportunities and I have the honor of accompanying people on this journey for more than two decades.
I am an educator, publicist, and lecturer focused on creating inclusive public policies, social innovations, and reducing inequalities in education. My ambition is to bring expert solutions that help schools and communities grow and move forward.

Mgr. Vlado Rafael, PhD.
I studied social work at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava, where I later also completed my doctoral studies in pedagogy at the Institute of Humanities. I worked for seven years at the Open Society Foundation as a professional consultant in the field of education, and my professional path was significantly shaped by an internship in Dayton, Ohio (USA), where I focused on community organizing and inclusive education.
I bring new perspectives to inclusive education, connect experts from the field, and support social innovations that empower vulnerable groups and strengthen social cohesion.

My long-term work includes roles as a social worker, educator, and advocate for the rights of children and vulnerable groups. I have published hundreds of texts—ranging from expert analyses to journalistic articles—that offer a critical view of the state of public policies and the possibilities for improving them. I have collaborated on national and international projects, worked as a consultant for the Council of Europe, and created several methodological guides, research studies, and analytical materials that help schools build more inclusive environments.
„I am convinced that education which is high-quality, inclusive, and supported by fair public policies can create new opportunities and contribute to a society where everyone can fully develop their potential“

Alongside my research, writing, and lecturing work, I also engage in literary creation, I am the author of the poetry collections Cudzie krídla (Foreign Wings) and Polnočný ostrov (Midnight Island).
In 2012, I founded the educational organization eduRoma, which I continue to lead to this day. For my work in the field of human rights, I received the international Human Rights Defender Award in 2016, presented to me by the U.S. Embassy in Slovakia during the administration of President Barack Obama.
